Rescue Me - Season 3
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment
Released: 6/05/07
Review By: Joshua Noyes

Picture Quality - 3/5
Audio Quality - 4/5
Special Features - 2.5/5
Overall - 3.5/5

Comments: This was a very inconsistent transfer. It is VERY grainy in the dark scenes and absolutely stunning in the bright scenes. The picture was also somewhat soft. It lacked the sharpness of the best transfers we have seen thus far. Colors were good, but sometimes it almost seemed as though they were faded. It basically boils down to this, the dark scenes are poor and the bright scenes are stunning. This is also in AVC with bitrates ranging from the high 20's to low 30's. In terms of AQ these transfers do well. I listened in PCM 5.1 4.6 Mbps. The center channel is used well and we even get some surround and LFE action. The Special Features are pretty generic; some bloopers, featurettes and deleted scenes.
