Comments: This Blu ray title is in an aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The picture is stunning to say the least. With beautiful colors and sharp details this one can be pure eye candy. Blacks are nice and inky which help elevate the contrast to a great level. I really liked how they blended everything so well together. Sony is really going all out on their Blu ray titles and paprika is no exception.
The Dolby TrueHD soundtrack is equally impressive. It also is available in Japanese in case you want to brush up on your different language skills. Anyway, all the speakers are used to perfection. The dialogue is done in perfect tonality. You will literally be immersed into the movie hearing the sound around you. As I already mentioned Sony did not hold back with this title and obviously did not hold back any punches in the sound department either.
The Special Features are very interesting. You get a good trailor, a great making of, and an informative director's commentary. You also get a few other conversations about the movie and what it means.
Overall I do recommend this movie. You really need to pay attention from the start. It is easy to get lost but will make plenty of sense in the end. I do not want to give anything away but you need to make it to the end in this cool sci fi thriller. Definitely at least worth a rent. Check it out!
