Comments: Mr. Brooks has an aspect ratio of 1.85:1. If you are looking for a good reference movie to help check your display's black level then look no further. Mr. Brooks has many night time scenes which offer superb deep blacks with excellent shadow detail. Fleshtones are also rendered nicely. I really liked the amount of detail you could see in most fo the scenes. You could even see the fabric fuzz on some of their clothing! The only minor flaw was ac ouple of scenes did appear to suffer from edge enhancement but if you are not looking closely you will not see it. The DTS-HD Master soundtrack was excellent. Gunshots sounded like they were in the room with you! I jumped a couple of times when the subwoofer reacted perfectly to the action on the screen. Dialogue was clear and distinct. Your surrounds will get some good use in this one. Overall I really enjoyed this chilly thriller. Mr. Brooks was blended together nicely with outstanding picture and audio quality. If you like serial killer Dramas then you will really like this Blu ray title!
