Comments: Fox did an EXCELLENT job with this transfer. This film is encoded using AVC on to a BD50 and used DTS-HD MA for sound. The colors are sharp and vivid and really "pop" off the screen. The film grain is minimal and I saw absolutely no noise or macroblocking. I saw no noise whatsoever in any scenes. For a film of it’s age, this is a nice improvement over the DVD version of this film.
In-terms of audio quality I would say this was a great representation of what DTS-HD MA is capable of in an older film. The Surrounds were used frequently. The LFE too was used to perfection, albeit in a more discreet manner and helped create an encompassing effect in many scenes. The center channel is where this release excels. Dialog can be heard loud and clear, as if the characters of the film were in your living room with you.
This release has some great special features. We get the following:
Commentary by Directors Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly.
Deleted Scenes with Optional Director’s Commentary.
Theatrical Thrailers in High Definition.
In conclusion, if you are a fan of this film, I can highly recommend this purchase as the story is fun, the picture and sound quality are top notch and this is an improvement over the DVD version of this film.
