Comments: This HD DVD is in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio. Considering it was done in 1984 the picture was not half bad! It is "light years" better than the standard version on dvd. Contrast can be lacking at times and the black level is less then steller but it does have some nice space scenes. Some scenes appear sharper than others and is pretty inconsistent throughout. The color is what it needs to be and facial tones are perfect. The audio had a nice Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. I was very shocked how some of the special effects were strategically placed in the surrounds. In fact, the audio is very impressive considering the year they made this! Overall, I have always enjoyed this title growing up and it is nice to see it get released in HD with a Dolby TrueHD soundtrack!
