Comments: This HD DVD is presented in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio. The title has some very good scenes and some very average scenes. The black and white boxing scenes have a lot of pop to them. No pun intended of course! The contrast in these scenes is very good. On the negative side the colors are very plain. They even appear washed out at times. Of course there are some scenes where the color can become quite vivid but those are few and far between. Grain can also be apparent at times. As for the audio it has a Dolby Digital Plus soundtrack. The voices are done rather nicely with good distinctive tone. The jazz music swarms around the fronts which help create enveloping sound. Overall in direct comparison to the previously released DTHEATER version the HD DVD one is about the same. That is not a bad thing since I really liked the DTHEATER version. If you like boxing then by all means you will really enjoy this one...
