Comments: I just got through watching Hostel and one word can sum up my feelings, "Creepy." In-terms of PQ there is a fair amount of grain, which can lead the picture to look soft at times. The grain is only present in the darker scenes of the film. Many of the outdoor scenes are sharp and vibrant. This film is an AVC encode averaging in the low 30 Mbps's. At times I saw it spike above 40 Mbps. In-terms of AQ it was solid in my opinion. I watched using the TrueHD 5.1 option. The Surrounds and LFE were used often and to perfection and the Center Channel reproduced the dialog flawlessly. The Special Features of this release too were quite interesting. My favorite gives you a behind the scenes look at the creation of this film. Regardless if you are a fan of this film or have never seen it, I highly recommend this purchase.
