Comments: This HD DVD is 1.85:1 and it is a VC-1 disc. It is by all means not a bad looking movie but could have been much better. The colors are unusual and are all tinted throughout the entire movie. Not that it is a bad thing because they actually fit the story perfectly. The amount of detail is also very nice. The biggest complaints are sometimes you can tell they intended to add grain into the picture which causes that to much digital effect. I am not a grain hater by all means, but intential grain I do find bothersome. Also there is jaggies and halos in some scenes where you can tell the edge enhancement was over done. The audio is done in Dolby Digital Plus. And Plus in this soundtrack should mean extra FRONT. You pretty much don't hear anything from the backs so your fronts (mainly center) will get a nice workout. On the PLUS side the dialogue was recorded well. And since the majority of audio comes from the front in this one it needed to be! Overall I found myself liking the story enough to forget that I wasn't wearing orange tinted sunglasses.
