Comments: This film achieves the highest bitrates I have seen to date for a film using a VC-1 encode, sometimes the bitrates reach 38Mbps! The results are stunning. At no time do we see any motion artifacts or macroblocking. Colors also look vibrant, especially some of the outdoors scenes which take place in New Orleans. Sound is also very strong. I watched using the 5.1 PCM option. I did compare this track to others throughout the film and there is no doubt that PCM was the strongest and most encompassing sounds format available on this disc. Special Features were surprisingly short in delivering in this release. I can confidently give a strong recommendation to purchase this discs as it sets a new standard for the VC-1 codec.
